Meet The Creators of Hatsune Miku Panel NYCC

So here is the 2 week late post of the Vocaloid panel @ the New York Comic Con!

(I pretty much gave up on this post slightly because Photobucket wouldn't upload all the pictures in the album. After multiple attempts I gave up and about a week ago I uploaded everything one by one. I'm planning on switching to another photo host after this.
Anyway back to the post!)

Behold!! The Creators of Miku Hatsune!! The man on the far right of the table is just the translator.

The panel started off with a MV of PoPiPo!!
(The guy in this crazy hat really got on my nerves! That thing is in every picture!!)

Photobucket
Here they are showing and explaining the different types of merchandise that Crypton produces!

Photobucket
Here is the official info for Kagamine Rin and Len! They also went into detail how they are not twins but one person in the same. So ha! to all you people who argued with me that they were twins when I told you they weren't~!!

Photobucket
Here is Megurine Luka's Official bio too!! She's quite old! The first bilingual Vocaloid!

Photobucket
They also showed some pv footage done by fans using Luka! It was really amazing!!

Photobucket
The Vocaloid fans really are impressive over in Japan! I mean just look at it! It's fantastic!! I forgot the name of the PV but when I remember it I shall post the link to it!

Photobucket
Some Vocaloid trivia! Did you know Hatsune Miku was not the first Vocaloid created?! It was Meiko in 2004! Kaito came out as the first male Vocaloid in '06. Though they didn't take off as quickly as Miku they were still the first in the Vocaloid program.
Photobucket
Here they explain the power of video sharing sites and the number of Vocaloid videos on both Nico Nico Douga and Youtube.
Photobucket
Hatsune Miku's original packaging in the Vocaloid series.

Photobucket
This is the chain reaction of how Miku (and other Vocaloids) have become popular!!
It starts with the program which is created and produced by Crypton. From there the fans will make Music Videos, Fan art, and 3D graphic versions of them. What becomes of that will be Cosplay of the Music Videos, Crypton will produce figures of Fan art, and other fans that see the Graphics can create Animation videos!

(I laughed so hard when I realized who they used as an example of cosplay! She's gotten so big!!!)

Photobucket
Piapro is an official website that was started by Crypton for fans to share their work with others.
Example being let's say I make music. I can post my music on the site and another fan could write lyrics to it. Now that it is a song someone else that may be handy with animations can make a video for it. And after that another fan can come in and edit it. Pretty much every thing on the site is posted up by fans to show everyone!

Photobucket
In order to join Piapro you must agree to Crypton's agreements. In exchange they will allow you to use their space (which I believe is free!) and you may post your creations to the site. From there another user can download your work and post it to such video sharing sites such as Nico Douga and Youtube.

Photobucket
There are two types of Vocaloid creations that users can make!! It's called an "Ashu". The first types are Human looking ones and the Second types are Deformation ones.

Photobucket
Examples of Humanoids.

Photobucket
Examples of Deformation ones.
When this slide came up everyone in the room laughed really hard!! Shiteyanyo and Lin no youchuu are so funny to look at~! I wonder what was going through the creator's head when they made this...

Photobucket
Geeks Love Miku is exactly what it sounds like! Nerds love her! Here they are showing the dedication fans go to show their love!

MMD aka Miku Miku Dance is a fan made program in which a 3d model of Miku is used with commands to make her do as you please! The program is also free and I for one have it~!
Example of what can be done with MMD and a lot of dedication!!

I used this video because I feel that it really shows how you can even re create your favorite MVs. That and this was one of my favorite MMDs I have seen~!

"Ano Gakki" ー あの楽器 or literally translated into "That Instrument" was a type of keyboard instrument that was shown in a Hatsune Miku MV. People thought it was cool and wished that the imaginary instrument was real. So a fan somewhere pretty much created a real life playable version of it! Pretty cool if you ask me! Unfortunately I do not have pictures of it! My arm was beginning to cramp up at this point!

Photobucket
This was a life size Miku robot created by some college students! Extremely impressive!!
(The child staring at it is real.)

Photobucket
Here is a list of the different types of merchandise created by Crypton!

Photobucket
Nendoroids are small figures that are pretty much deformed versions of the characters. These Nendoroids are of Miku and Luka!

Photobucket
And Rin and Len!
Fun Fact!
I bought Kerry the Len one as a gift for her return back to the US from Columbia.
She broke his neck trying to change his face but thankfully he came with two extra ones!

Photobucket
Vocaloid is extremely popular to the point where even race cars are decorated in the characters!

Photobucket
Here is the Eco System of how Crypton and Vocaloid function!
Creators post to Piapro in which they can post their own or get content to then post to video sharing sites. From there the Listeners will watch the posted videos. If it becomes popular companies license and will produce different goods such as toys, music, and software in which the Listeners can then buy to enjoy. the royalties then go to Crypton who will then pay the costs of running the Piapro site for users to continue uploading their creations. Crypton can then license the work of some of the Creators in which they will also receive royalty for their work. It's a really big chain and slightly confusing but super amazing how it works!!
Everyone is needed to make things work!

Photobucket
"Miku Append" was released in April of 2010. It is the new version of the Hatsune Miku software. She has six new tones ( Soft, Dark, Solid, Vivid, Sweet, and Light) so that she is able to sound and sing with more emotion and somewhat more of a human sounding voice. As stated the image cover design for the software was a retouched photo of an actual Miku figure.

Photobucket
Here is the image of the figure that was used for the cover of the software packaging.
(Sorry for the horrible photo!)

Photobucket
Project Diva was a game project with Sega. It is a music and rhythm game for the PSP.

Photobucket
In 2010 Miku also had her live concert! How is that possible you ask? Well it is done by putting glass on the stage and a projector reflects the image off of it. The music is played by a live band! The name Miku can also be written as Mi - 3 and Ku as -9. I totally forget what this is called but I know it is the same system in which MYV is also written as 382. So because of this on 3/9 also known as March 9th (which is my birthday!!) of this year there was the Vocaloid concert which was also cleverly named the Thank You Giving Day Concert! The name of the concert coming from the Japanese version of 3 being pronounced San and the sound for 9 being Kyuu. Get it? Sankyuu! When you say it, it almost sounds like Thank you! So it's called the Sankyuu Giving Day Concert. Kinda like Thanksgiving Day!
Below is an image from the concert!

Photobucket
Here is a video clip of one song from the concert!

I really love how she glitches out!! Just amazing!!

Photobucket
Rin and Len's version of "Append" will be released in December of 2010. They will also have a total of six new tones, just like Miku.

Photobucket
There is a HUGE consideration from the creators to bring Hatsune Miku to the US!! But!! This cannot be achieved with out help from many fans!! If you want to see an English version of the Hatsune Miku Vocaloid software then please join the Facebook community and show the support!! The creators of Miku have promised that they will do so when they reach 39,930 people! Miku,Miku people!! So please!!

If you are interested please visit http://on.fb.me/cB1xga
Photobucket
A Vocaloid shop in the US?! Seriously?! People go join that community right now and show them we want Miku!

Photobucket
And to finish off the panel they show links for more information! I am following their Blogger account for sure!!

Photobucket
And that was the end of the panel! They had a few Q&A afterward such as "Did you ever expect all this to come from Hatsune Miku?" and "What do you think of other similar freeware programs such as Utau?" The answers being to the questions "No." and "As long as Crypton continues to produce quality goods we have no fear over the other competition!" Good job Crypton! I agree 100%!!

It was an amazing panel and very informative!! I enjoyed it very very much! Really excited I got to see the creators and hopefully they will return to NYCC next year~!

Photobucket
Here's just a booth in the exhibition floor that was decked out in Miku! "Tinier Me" is a website like Gaiaonline. It is a FREE Virtual Anime World! Pretty cute and I totally made an account on it! The graphics on it are extremely well made! If you like online games like that check it out!!

For more info on the online community of Tinier Me visit http://tinierme.com

NYCC&NYAF Update day 1

So I just got back from NYCC/NYAF!! I'm so tired!!

The layout of the convention was EXTREMELY confusing!! I really dislike the fact that NYAF and NYCC were mixed together. It made it so much harder to find dealers and panels. It was also very crowed today! I've been told that this was only for Friday and come around to tomorrow everything will be made easier for everyone! I really hope it is true because for the first time in my life I actually used the floor map!

I worked at Reni's booth for a while and checked out some of the dealers! They have really neat stuff this year~! I went to the "Meet the Creators of Hatsune Miku" panel and all I can say is wow! NYAF did an incredible job this year!! Tickets for the weekend, saturday, and sunday were all sold out! Seriously though. Vampz, Puffy Amiyumi, Rika Ishikawa, Minori Chihara, Kanon, and even more? I am super impressed! Like NYAF really stepped it up this year!! The guest list was amazing and I plan on seeing as many as I can~!

For now I will stop posting because I am in so much pain. I have to be at the Javits Center bright and early tomorrow for performance rehearsal!! I will update tomorrow though~!

Night~!

Cosplay update and Sunday's Maid Party~!

Since NYAF has been approaching I've been slightly neglecting my blog!! Sorry!

NYAF/NYCC is about 3 days away and I am frantically working on my headphones and dance routine!! The headphones are still incomplete and as for my new Miku cosplay I don't even have the dress yet! Totally freaking out! I will hopefully be sewing my gloves and sash for the dress Thursday night. So stressed out.

Here are the progress pics of my headphones.

The feathers look quite messy and icky.

Still no where near finished and I think it looks rather plain!
I want to decorate it more but I am extremely low on funds!!

***************************************************************

My Cosplay Line Up for NYAF/NYCC will be:

Friday - Melt Down Miku Hatsune

Saturday - Magnet Miku Hatsune

Yes I am quite aware this isn't Miku. I will be doing my own angelic version of this magnet as Miku.

Sunday - Mikuru Asahina

(This is last weeks photo I forgot to post!)

Daniel and his birthday cake~!
(Pictures were taken by Reni)

I did a video blog for after practice up until arriving at the venue for Daniel's birthday. I'm really liking making videos but I don't want to get lazy about typing blogs!! Here it is~!

I really had a great time Daniel and I'm happy you enjoyed your party!!

Since this is becoming somewhat picture posty I'll just post a picture of this adorable headband I got! It's a bunny headband! I've been dying to get one of these for ages!! My friend Annie says it looks like a raggamuff headband but I think it's quite nice....

It's mee!!

And finally Taco Bell~!

These cinnamon twist are so nice~!
They taste extremely cheap and disappear like packing peanuts in water!
I love the fact that they are good but that it's just they are totally cheap!

So that's about it for this post! Freaking out over NYAF/NYCC and hopefully I will be able to finish everything on time~!

Wish me luck!

Why do you think Miku Hatsune is so addictive? She's like a virus! (a good one) that has spread worldwide!!

I think it's because she can do and be whatever she wants.

The fact that you make her into what you want her to be is extremely important. How many other characters can you name that you can change their personality and style so frequently?

Ask me anything

Visited Jesse!

Today I spent the entire visiting Jesse!!

He's a cosplayer I met back in 2006. He's totally cool. He used to cosplay as Optimus Prime and run around with a boom box but he's somewhat retired that now.

So I woke up super early today to catch the 10:34 train. It's a 2 hour ride to get there. Yes you read that right. 2 HOURS!! I kept myself entertained by doing my makeup and playing Professor Layton and the Unwound Future for the first hour. For the second half of the ride I needed to transfer at Babylon. It was raining super hard and one of the trains malfunctioned so I was delayed by an hour. Super mad so while I waited I began to practice My Shy Master, Neco, and a few seconds of Song of Devastation.
